33,000ft Sweaters & Vests Editorial Review
The Men's Softshell Gilet Activewear Vest is a high-quality product that offers smart and warm outerwear. One standout feature is the 2-way front zip, which is a rarity among sleeveless softshells. This feature is essential for comfort and ease of movement, especially for individuals who are Constantly getting in and out of vehicles or engaging in bending and squatting motions. The vest also boasts 5 pockets and a hood, which can be zipped off if desired. The reviewer points out that if this were a jacket, they would not buy it due to potential overheating. They note that many windproof softshell jackets on the market, unless made by established brands with expensive materials, often lack breathability. The reviewer has had positive experiences with windproof softshells made by established manufacturers using materials such as Goretex Windstopper or Goretex Ignium. In terms of price, the reviewer finds the Men's Softshell Gilet to be slightly expensive compared to other options on the market. They highlight purchasing similar Regatta and Craghoppers products for less on Amazon. The reviewer ultimately rates the vest 4 stars due to its uncompetitive pricing. However, in an update, the reviewer mentions that they still appreciate the vest and intend to keep it despite its limitations. They mention that during the winter season, it did not fit over their other windproof jackets for added warmth, and the armholes were too small to wear it over a hoodie or fleece. They found that getting a larger size solved these issues. The vest received 5 stars after the reviewer successfully wore it over another fleece for added warmth. Overall, the Men's Softshell Gilet Activewear Vest receives positive feedback for its unique features such as the 2-way front zip, 5 pockets, and removable hood. The only downside mentioned is its slightly higher price compared to other options on the market.
