True HEPA filter traps 99.99% of particles as small as 0.03 microns such as pollen, dust, and pet dander. The CD carbon filter reduces VOC's and elimiates household odors from cooking, pets, and smoke. It is recommended to change out both filters once every 12 months for optimal performance.
