Latin Percussion Congas LP805Z-AW Editorial Review
** Latin Percussion LP805Z-AW Conga Drum** The Latin Percussion LP805Z-AW Conga Drum has received an overwhelmingly positive reception from customers, establishing itself as a top choice among both amateur and professional musicians. Reviewers praise this drum for its rich, mellow sound, characterized by clear open tones and solid bass notes. This resonance is particularly noticeable when playing from the center of the head, allowing for a better sustain of middle and high frequencies—a feature that stands out over other materials, like ash. In terms of Construction, the LP Classic tumbadoras are noted for their solid build quality. The use of lightweight wood, specifically Tilia, not only contributes to the drum's fine grain but also offers an impressive Janka hardness score of 410, indicating durability. The design elements, such as the steel collar seating and innovative “m” shaped rim, enhance the ease of tuning and adjustment, providing musicians with the ability to fine-tune the sound to their preference—often noted to remain Consistent for weeks after tuning. For frequent players, a robust padded case is recommended for additional protection, emphasizing the quality and reliability of the drum during extensive use. Customers highlighted the exceptional craftsmanship and finish of the drum, with many finding its sound just as vibrant and engaging as their previous congas, if not superior. However, there were minor complaints regarding the play in the lug wrench provided, suggesting some users might prefer a more precise fit. Overall, the LP805Z-AW offers an enticing combination of sound quality, ease of tuning, and durable Construction, making it a fantastic addition to any percussionist's setup. **
