It is recommendable for someone who wants to know about specification as it explains topics like the differences between performance specs and proprietary specs. The book is particularly useful for the CSI's Certified Construction Specifier (CCS) exam and is the primary source for the exam. However, it may not cover some specifications-related topics that are on the exam, so one may need to review parts of CSI's "Project Delivery Practice Manual" in addition to this book. According to the review, CSI would make sure that all critical information related to specifications would be in its specifications guide. Some items that are in the Project Delivery Practice Manual aren't in this Construction Specifications Practice Guide, but this should not discourage anyone from buying the book. The chapter on language is one of the best in the book, with appropriate terms and punctuation in specifications and drawing notes, ambiguous words to avoid, imperative sentence structure, etc. The book is not quite as comprehensive as it could be, but it is still an excellent book to use in developing a firm's specifications templates and defining office procedures.
