Higher zones can be found in Hawaii (up to 12) and Puerto Rico (up to 13). The southern middle portion of the mainland and central coastal areas are in the middle zones (zones 8, 7, and 6).

    antwoord: Yes. It was 9 here in Texas this winter. I thought mine were dead. But they are coming back. I see buds forming.

    antwoord: It's hardy to zones 7-9. It will be an annual in your zone. You can use it as a foundation plant but I doubt that it will return the following season.

    antwoord: Mine flowered by Summer (this is a second plant purchase) and it looks hardy and I can see some potential blooms already forming indoors on this newly purchased one.

    antwoord: You do not. They just turn brown and fall off.
  • vraag: Can it be used inside as a house plant?

    antwoord: Yes. Research the internet for care. It's a temperamental plant, but responds to treatment.

    antwoord: Yes. A Gardenia is a woody, perennial shrub.
  • vraag: How large do these get when planted in the ground?

    antwoord: Planted our early spring 2021, late fall here in Pa now. I would say it's about 2 1/2 ft high and 2 ft wide. Like with any plant it can be trimmed in early spring late fall to maintain size. I think this plant did good so far, let's see how the winter treats it.

    antwoord: It should do well. We are in similar zones, I'm in NY, so I'm hoping it will return next year. It's a new purchase so fingers crossed
