The rods have a fast action and are super compact, making them perfect for small streams with low overhead canopies. The reel is attached using a slip ring that slides over the reel from front to back. The rods are made in China and are not super well made, but they are not bad for the price. However, some customers have reported durability issues with the rods, with two customers reporting that the rod snapped while casting and another customer reporting that they broke two rods in a few months. Despite this, the majority of customers seem to love the rod and have had great success catching a variety of fish.
