The 8Bitdo Retro Mechanical Keyboard has garnered significant positive attention from users, particularly for its typing experience, aesthetic appeal, and customizable features. Many users have praised the keyboard's "great clicky keys," making it not just enjoyable for typing but also a nostalgic nod to retro designs. The overall build quality is described as sturdy, and the design, especially in Famicom colors, is visually pleasing to many. A standout feature is the inclusion of dual super programmable buttons, which users found useful for mapping commands, although some reported a learning curve in adapting to these controls. The ability to type in hiragana has been particularly noted by users practicing Japanese, highlighting the keyboard’s multifunctionality. Moreover, despite being labeled sometimes as noisy, the satisfying tactile feel of the keys has been appreciated, making the keyboard a joy to use for some people. However, not everything about the keyboard is universally praised. Users have highlighted certain flaws such as the lack of a "£" key, as well as some aesthetic choices that have drawn criticism. The insistence of displaying "Retro Keyboard" on the device does not sit well with everyone, who feel that its design alone is clear enough. Additionally, concerns were raised about certain functional elements, such as the volume knob and extra buttons, which some users believe would benefit from being more discreet. Overall, the 8Bitdo Retro Mechanical Keyboard emerges as a well-received product among users, particularly for its typing feel and aesthetic charm, but it also faces some scrutiny regarding functionality and design decisions. **
