The Eheim Pro 4+ 600 (also known as 2275) is a highly reliable filter that is quieter and more finely crafted than some other options on the market, making it more expensive. This filter model can work on a salt water tank and addresses the annoying issue of frequent cleaning as its media only has to be replaced once a year or even twice. The Eheim filter media is of high quality and even if replaced, one may opt to add established filter media from an established filter to populate the new filter with beneficial bacteria. Although, the priming pump siphon system is non-functional in some set ups such as rumble tanks, it can still be pre-filled with water to ensure it starts the suction loop properly. While the filter is very powerful and can handle a nearly 10 inch long red ear slider, the filter may not have sufficient flow or capacity for a 125-gallon tank. It, however, has over four years of use even when advertised to only work for a 150-gallon tank. One negative aspect, however, is that some customers find it problematic to install the intake and outtake pipes, and priming the filter to pump can be difficult.
